NPL in its pursuit of excellence has been upgrading its quality assurance department and facilities. It has elaborate testing (chemical, instrumental and microbiological) facilities for raw materials, allied and finished products, as well as process and in-process control procedures. All the chemicals are tested against reference standards before use. We have been receiving the reference standards from Central Drug Laboratory, Calcutta on the recommendation of WHO since our inception.

The lab is equipped with most of the modern analytical instruments like High Performance Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC), Infra - Red Spectrophotometer, Gas Liquid Chromatograph (GLC) etc. It has developed its own ( analysis) testing protocols.
